Plant-based, Pure Ocean-sourced VITUS® MAGNESIUM
Magnesium oxide is one of the most common form of magnesium sold but its absorption rate is poor. The quality of a magnesium supplement depends on the form of magnesium in the supplement and how readily it is absorbed and utilized by the body. It is therefore vital to ensure that your magnesium supplement is of one that gives you optimum absorption.
VITUS® MAGNESIUM is a pure ocean-sourced marine magnesium – sustainably sourced from the clean, mineral-rich seawater off the Irish Atlantic coast. It is far more soluble than most other magnesium supplements because it is extracted in such a way that it is more easily absorbed than mined minerals.
VITUS® MAGNESIUM is precipitated from seawater which is then washed repeatedly with freshwater and dried to a fine powder – the result is a multimineral product which,
in addition to magnesium hydroxide, contains 72 other trace minerals that work together to boost the absorption of magnesium in the body.
Studies have shown that magnesium derived from a marine-derived multimineral product is absorbed and made available to the body to a significantly greater extent than most other magnesium supplements and may offer additional health benefits given its multimineral profile.
Each vegan capsule of VITUS® MAGNESIUM contains 364 mg of elemental magnesium – which is over 100% of the recommended daily intake – and 72 pure plant-source minerals and trace minerals. VITUS® MAGNESIUM is proudly packaged in a 100% recyclable glass bottle and lid and is non-GMO, does not contain any synthetic vitamins, is free from artificial preservatives, additives, gluten, dairy, pesticides and herbicides.
Recommended dosage: One capsule a day
Do you need magnesium supplements?
If you hit the gym often or if you are an endurance athlete, you may benefit from consuming
magnesium supplements. Magnesium is the second most prevalent electrolyte in the human body and is necessary for over 300 metabolic reactions in the body. It helps maintain healthy nerve and muscle function, heart rhythm, blood pressure, sugar levels, as well as bone integrity. During exercise, your body may need 10 to 20% more magnesium than at rest. Magnesium helps move blood sugar into your muscles for production of energy and removes lactic acid which can build up in muscles during exercise. Magnesium is also lost through sweat, so athletes training hard in hot and humid environments, might do well with more magnesium.
If you consume large amounts of caffeine, sugar, alcohol and processed food, you may be at risk of magnesium deficiency. Check with your doctor if you experience loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and weakness. As magnesium deficiency worsens, numbness, tingling, muscle contractions and cramps may also occur.
